New York
Medicare Professionals operates in many states – including New York. If you’re a New York resident needing affordable insurance, you’re in luck. You can get some of the most highly sought-after insurance policies on the market for a low cost.
Medicare
Medicare is made up of different types of policies known as Parts. These consist of the following:
- Part A – inpatient (hospital, skilled nursing care, hospice)
- Part B – outpatient (routine appointments, medical equipment, and walk-in visits)
- Part C – Medicare Advantage (combination of inpatient, outpatient, and sometimes prescription medication)
- Part D – prescription medication
Part A and Part B are collectively known as Original Medicare. With these, you can get other types of Medicare coverage, such as Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplements (Medigap). However, you can’t have both Medicare Advantage and Medigap – you must choose between one or the other.
Medicare Supplements
Medicare Supplements are known as Medigap. This is supplemental insurance that requires you to enroll in Original Medicare. It’s not a policy you can have by itself. When you get services covered under Medicare, your Medigap policy will provide additional coverage once Medicare has covered services up to plan limits. This will save you on out-of-pocket costs.
Life Insurance
Life insurance allows you to leave substantial wealth to your loved ones. You won’t be limited by what’s in your bank account. Instead, you pay premiums in exchange for a death benefit (the money that will be disbursed to your beneficiaries) that gets released after your passing.
These policies can be temporary (such as term life) or lifelong (like whole life). The one that works for you will depend on what you can afford and the purpose of the death benefit. Term life is cheaper because it expires after a certain number of years (e.g., 30 years), and a common motive for purchasing it is to cover mortgage balances. Whole life is more expensive, but the death benefit can be much greater without the need for a policy renewal.
Final Expense
Final expense is a type of permanent life insurance. It’s distinguished by its low premiums and smaller death benefit, which usually doesn’t surpass $50,000. Most buy this with the intention of covering funeral and burial expenses, so their loved ones won’t have to incur the financial burden of paying for a funeral and its associated costs.
